'The Urban Canopy: A City Sanctuary' is my fourth-year project exploring how we can incorporate more green space in the bustling city centre of New Zealand's Capitol.
This project proposes an urban sanctuary in the heart of the CBD, in Civic Square. It serves as a space for both people and wildlife, all while integrating green spaces into our day-to-day lives. I have designed a pavilion and boardwalk, and with the help of native planting strategies, the space is transformed into an urban oasis for members of the public to use as an escape from their busy day-to-day lives.
